NOTREmaison appreciates the coverage it receives from local, regional, national, and international media outlets. Email is the best way for journalists to reach the Public Relations and Communications team, and we make every effort to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible.

Media Relations Guidelines

At NOTREmaison, we recognize our responsibility to provide information of public interest to the news media. However, we must ensure a balance between media interests and our responsibility to protect our residents’ right to privacy, including the right not to be interviewed or photographed without written consent.

Media relations are governed by the following guidelines:

  • NOTREmaison complies with privacy laws. For this reason, all members of the media must notify NOTREmaison’s communications manager before conducting an interview with a staff member, partner professional, or resident. Members of the media must also be accompanied by a representative from NOTREmaison. Unaccompanied journalists will not be permitted on any of our properties.
  • Even if a staff member, partner professional, or resident agrees to speak with the media, a member of management must always give authorization when the interview takes place at one of our facilities. NOTREmaison reserves the right to refuse media interviews for medical or other reasons.
  • NOTREmaison does not permit journalists to move about in areas where they may disrupt services to residents.
  • When using a camera or video camera, journalists must ensure that other residents and the general public are not recognizable or visible on screen and that no medical records or other medical information are photographed or recorded.
  • NOTREmaison will attempt to connect the media with experts on various topics, subject to their availability. Staff members have the right to decline requests from the media.
  • Journalists must identify staff members by their position in articles related to their work or role.
  • Journalists are asked to use the full name of the institution or its staff when referring to them in articles published in print or online.
