A reassuring and well-organized welcome.

Moving into the residence

We know that the transition from home to senior living is no small undertaking for older adults and their families. We want to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Every step is planned carefully and respectfully to ensure new residents feel comfortable and welcome in their new home the moment they arrive.

1-Meeting our senior living advisor

At your first appointment, our lifestyle advisor will take the time to sit down and listen to you and your loved one. This is an essential step in getting to know you and understanding your needs, your preferences, your current living situation and your hopes for this next chapter of your life.

What you can expect at this appointment:

  • Information about the residence and the services provided
  • Guided tour of the facilities (living units, common areas, etc.)
  • Invitation to join us for a meal in the dining room
  • Open discussion to identify your needs in terms of care, services and support

Assessing Needs and Services

After this initial conversation, our care team will review your needs in detail. We will then suggest a suite of services tailored to your situation, including healthcare, personal support and social activities.

Why is this assessment necessary?

  • So we can develop a personalized care plan suited to you
  • To ensure that all your physical, cognitive and social needs are addressed

Signing a Lease

Once your personalized care plan has been finalized, the next step is signing a lease. Our team will be happy to answer any of your questions and walk you through the administrative formalities.

This is an important step, during which we will:

  • Confirm the services included in your residency plan
  • Provide more detailed information about daily life in your new community
  • Give you a copy of your resident handbook
  • Help you get ready to move in

Settling In: welcome home

Everything will be ready for you on the day you move in to make the transition hassle-free. Our team will be there to welcome you and help you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

What you can expect on day one:

  • Help in getting your new space set up the way you like it
  • A walk-through of the facilities
  • Introductions to team members and other residents

The importance of family support
Getting used to a new living environment can be tough. Having your family members there to support you can ease the transition. We encourage families to read our blog for some helpful tips on how to make the experience smoother for everyone.

We recommend that families prepare a set of personal essentials that will help the new resident adjust and feel at home. Have a closer look at our checklist of recommended items to make sure you have everything they need.

Meeting with the resident care coordinator

Your comfort and well-being are our top priority. Once you’ve moved in, you will meet with the personal support worker assigned to you and the resident care coordinator who will ensure the day-to-day care and services you receive fit your needs.

This discussion will help you:

  • Get to know and trust your care team
  • Obtain answers to your questions
    and help us:
  • Make any necessary adjustments to your personalized care plan
  • Determine whether you need extra assistance in settling in

Une fête d’accueil : célébrons votre arrivée
